Our trip to Canterbury

This is a photo of Alahna outside the Canterbury Cathedral about a week after we arrived in England. This place was huge and filled with so much history. Inside is the tombs of King Henry VIII (the Church of England guy) and the Black Knight, and all their original armor and flags etc. The Cathedral also has the tombs of all the previous Arch Bishops. The first building was built around 550-600AD by the Romans. It is the place where the arch bishop of Canterbury, the highest person in the Anglican religion resides, so it's kind of like the Vatican to the Catholics or Mecca to Muslims.
We went to Canterbury with Ric, Lina and Dave and had a pretty cool day there, its in Kent which is south of London. We also went to Canterbury Castle, which was the first real castle that Alahna and I were going to see (apart from the Disney Land castle of course), and well, what can I say, it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was still pretty cool. See the pics below and you'll understand what I mean.

This is a photo of me outside West Gate, one of the entrances to the town of Canterbury. Pretty impressive, the majority of the city gates and walls are still intact and part of the moat that surrounds the town is used as a canal complete with gondolas.

This is a photo of the Knights Chapel inside the cathedral, it had the armor and swords of local knight and their flags.

....and finally Alahna and I in front of the Canterbury Castle in all its glory! Not quite what we were expecting, but still pretty interesting...

....Inside the castle with Dave, Ric and Lina playing Brady Bunch.
